Steinberg's UR22 USB audio interface is a simple, but powerful tool to create studio recordings and control studio monitors with. As we are used from Steinberg, this interface has a neat look and it is equipped with practical extras like peak limiters and a built-in phantom power supply for the inputs (handy for condenser microphones). The interface is completely USB-powered and therefore also fit for mobile high-grade recordings.
Characteristics of the UR22 USB audio interface
The UR22 interface is a compact desktop interface that is especially well suited for home studios. Thanks to its compact size, it can easily be positioned on your desk without it getting in the way. The interface is compatible with PC and Mac computers. Beside its audio inputs and outputs, the UR22 also has a MIDI input and output on board. The two D-Pre preamps ensure that the signal stays in perfect condition. Real-time monitoring of incoming signals can be done via the Mix button.
Connectors of the UR22
Besides the inputs at the front, fit for microphone, line and instrument use, there are two outputs for studio monitors at the back. The front is equipped with Neutrik XLR/jack combo connectors, the line outputs are 6.35mm balanced jack connectors. At the back there is a switch to switch the phantom power for condenser microphones on and off. You can lock the interface with the built-in Kensington lock.

Ik merk wel een heel lichte storing in een enkele frequentie voor de zang, maar weet niet of het aan de microfoon ligt (Rode NT1) aan de bekabeling of aan de audio interface.
Ik gebruikt 'm in mijn bedroom studio om mijn monitors, gitaren en koptelefoon op aan te sluiten. Dat betekent dat ie vooral deel uitmaakt van een vaste setup. Ik heb 'm echter wel eens meegenomen naar andere locaties.
Het boxje zelf is van loei solide aluminium gemaakt (ik zou er rustig met een hamer op durven slaan).
De Pre-amps zijn lekker met fijne, stevige connectors en de headphone amp zorgt voor een beter geluid over mijn koptelefoon (AKG K182) dan bijvoorbeeld mijn laptop.
Kortom, zeker een absolute aanrader!
Product is perfect. I had an Audiobox in the past, and due to lake of support (driver) and quality issue I didn't want to order a product from Presonus anymore.
UR22 is extremely simple to install, seems very robust, doesn't get warm.
Perfect sounds, no undesired/background sound/hiss.
Knob to adjust levels for headphones and output. Thing missing from the Roland Quad Capture for example. Happy I went with this product instead of the focusrite Scarlett 2i4, and it's cheaper.
Very good price and fast delivery.
I recommend this product and this website, I would order again.
Wat een verademing, de verandering van ingebouwde geluidskaart naar deze Steinberg 22UR geeft een werelds verschil van geluidskwaliteit.
Ik hoor via de hoofdtelefoon hoe het geluid moet zijn en kan zo mijn montages beter maken.
Dat Bax-Shop snel levert is bij de klant bekend maar wel het vermelden waard.
