General

These days, computers have bigger and better hard discs, more memory and faster processors, which means your DAW can run more smoothly than ever before. Most standard audio interfaces are equipped with budget components, but the Motu 828es audio interface is a different story altogether. This extremely comprehensive device has all the connection options you'll ever need, all wrapped up in a single 19-inch rack unit.

Features of the Motu 828es

Let's begin with the front panel. At first glance, it appears to have a logical layout with two colour displays for monitoring. You'll also find two headphone outputs and two XLR/jack combo inputs with individual phantom power. On the rear, however, you'll find a veritable plethora of connection options and functionality. There are two ADATs for a maximum of sixteen channels, or eight with SMUX. There's also network, Thunderbolt, USB 2.0, MIDI, Wordclock, S/PDIF, analogue inputs and outputs, the list goes on and on. This module can process up to sixty inputs and outputs at once! The Motu 828es is the ideal way to expand on your studio with a single device.

Great audio interface and fast delivery. But I find it utter disgraceful for a 900,- product to not include a thunderbolt cable. Really? Do I have to buy it myself? Really disappointing.

Quasi, perché devi imparare a guidarla. Altra mezza stella.

Thursday 7 January 2016 By Richard | Bax Music

These days, films can be recorded entirely on smartphones, and some YouTubers are more famous than television presenters. The gap between professionals and amateurs is becoming smaller. Cameras on today's smartphones offer excellent image quality that is getting harder and harder to distinguish from 'the real thing'. Sound quality on smartphones, on the other hand, is an area that is still in need of some improvement. That's where the iKlip A/V from IK Multimedia comes in. It's a broadcast mount with an integrated microphone preamp that will add professional-quality sound to your smartphone footage.
