The Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 USB audio interface ensures excellent recording quality. It builds on the success of the renowned compact 2i2 USB audio interface and adds RCA outputs and MIDI ports to it. This larger version also has the famous Focusrite microphone preamps on board, and the manufacturer includes a complete software bundle so you can get started straight away! The Scarlett 2i4 is a highly complete interface that you'll surely want to give a place in your studio or DJ setup.
Design of the Scarlett 2i4 USB audio interface
You'll be able to achieve great recordings in no time with the highly accessible and versatile Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 USB audio interface. The front panel in the neat red housing of anodised aluminium offers space for two mic/instrument combo inputs by Neutrik. Accurate rotary knobs with clear LED indication rings allow you to precisely set the recording level. A headphone output with volume control is also provided. Balanced and unbalanced outputs and a MIDI input and output - for use with digital pianos and synthesizer modules - can be found on the rear of the unit.

Focusrite makes life easy for you with an extensive accessory software collection that consists of Ableton Live Lite 8, Focusrite Scarlett plug-in suite, Novation Bass Station and Loopmasters content. You are therefore instantly provided with digital tools for accurately editing recordings of your band sessions and mixing activities. To complete the ease of use, the housing features a Kensington lock. The Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 USB audio interface sounds as great as it looks!

Verder werkt het heel fijn, een goed signaal. Alleen gebeurt het soms dat je geluid volledig verdwenen is.
De Focusrite zelf zit goed ineen en heeft voor mij alle benodigde in/out/midi interfaces en ook de audio-kwaliteit is prima. Enig vervelend probleem wat hier ook al door anderen is aangehaald, is dat er dus soms een uiterst irritante brom op het geluid zit die je alleen weg krijgt door de unit even uit en terug in te pluggen of door de pc te herstarten. Op zich zonde voor een toestel dat normaal gezien een goede 200 kost en iets wat Focusrite toch zou moeten geregeld krijgen via de USB driver software (ik gebruik echter momenteel reeds de laatste driver versie en daar zit het probleem nog steeds in).
Omwille van dit laatste dus 4 sterren in plaats van 5.
De Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 scoort in dit specifieke geval beter. Mijn opnamen in mijn Cakewalk Sonar DAW klinken heel goed.
Een minpunt: als je de pc weer aanzet, dan kan de interface het pc geluid met een zware brom gaan weergeven. Dan moet je even de usb uit- en inpluggen en dan komt het pc geluid er weer zuiver doorheen. Vreemd maar gemakkelijk op te lossen. Ik haal meestal de usb eruit, zodat hij echt uitstaat, want anders blijft mijn laptop de usb voeden en dan blijft de Scarlett aan staan.
Ik gebruik hem i.c.m. een Windows 10 computer. Registratie van het product ging zeer snel en ook de installatie was met een paar knoppen geregeld. Spatzuiver geluid, geen enkele ruis meer aanwezig vanwege de balanced lines. Prima latency. De overige software die je erbij krijgt is mooi meegenomen, echter heb ik deze nog niet getest.
Al met al een top interface. Bezorging via Bax ook super. Ben zeer tevreden
