General
The Red 4Pre Thunderbolt by Focusrite Pro is a high-end 19-inch audio interface that professional audio engineers will love. It's equipped with no fewer than 58 inputs and 64 outputs to fulfil all your audio requirements. It has 24-bit, 192 kHz audio conversion and superior quality Red Evolution preamps for highly accurate recordings without any noise or distortion. In combination with the lightning-fast Thunderbolt 2 data transfer and support for Pro Tools HD and Dante audio network connectivity, you have all you need for even the most challenging audio situations.
Red Evolution Preamps
The Red Evolution preamps that Focusrite Pro developed especially for the 4Pre interface assure you of the purest recordings with virtually no noise or distortion affecting the signal from the sound source. The preamplifiers are software-driven and deliver up to 63 dB of gain. On top of that, an effect known as Air recreates the sound of the transformer-based mic preamps in the ISA range. The converters in the Red 4Pre are configured in parallel to lower the noise floor for more accurate audio reproduction and optimal overall sound.
Connectivity
Two Thunderbolt 2 ports provide ultra-fast data transfer with the lowest latency of any Focusrite Pro interface so far. The Thunderbolt ports can also be used to connect your hard disks or monitors. It also features a handy DigiLink connector for directly connecting to Pro Tools HD interfaces without the need for any additional peripherals. Finally, with Dante audio connectivity based on the Ethernet protocol and Focusrite's own RedNet 5 connectivity mode, you're fully prepared for the future of audio distribution.
