General
The FCA202 by Behringer enables you to record anything you want with ease, but has been specially engineered for connecting to a mixer's aux output to record a mixed signal directly.
This audio interface comes complete with a DAW and other software such as Ableton Live Lite 4 Behringer Edition, Kristal, and Audacity. The latter is a user-friendly program for recording and editing tracks.

Ga ik dan een systeem dat goed werkt vervangen door een peperduur nieuw systeem vervangen door een systeem dat in het begin vaak 'opstart'-problemen geeft? Mijn Macs heb ik sinds kort in twee kamers staan. Jaja, dat is luxe! Maar het geeft meteen een luxeprobleem! Zo heb ik dus nu een opnameruimte met een prima Focusrite Sapphire Pro-40 en een 'edit-room' waar ik alleen afluistering nodig heb. Tot voor kort nog via de audio-output met Escom boxjes. Maar dankzij deze Behringer een prima geluid.
Dit kastje is spotgoedkoop en gelukkig compatibel met oudere versies van MacOSX. Het werkte meteen. Als ik een 'moderne' audio-interface wil kopen van bijv. Steinberg of Focusrite dan gaan de systeemeisen vaak vanaf OSX.11 en dát kan mijn Intel Mac uit 2006 niet meer draaien (OSX.7). Hierbij dus een oproep aan fabrikanten. Het is mooi dat er nieuw spul wordt uitgebracht, maar laat in de specs ook toe dat er nog steeds gebruikers zijn met oude maar stabiele en degelijke 'set ups'. En waarom zou je een systeem willen veranderen als alles perfect werkt...?!
Fijn dat Bax dit nog kan leveren, want sommige muziekwinkels willen (of moeten) mee met de drang om maar beter, sneller en nieuwer te zijn. Ik kan me dat niet permitteren en ik vind het ook zonde om goede spullen die het nog goed doen weg te doen... Op naar een duurzame(re) wereld waar niet alles draait om 'vernieuwing & verbetering'. Hoewel ik over enkele maanden ook maar goede monitoren ga aanschaffen!
