General

Where to begin when talking about the Midas Neutron? First, let's explain what it actually is. The Neutron is the brain of the PRO X console - with the help of the latest software by Midas, it takes care of all the PRO X's DSP processing. You won't have to worry about running short of channels as the Neutron easily handles 192 I/O channels with a constant 96kHz sample rate. This is all thanks to the HyperMAC Router with 40-bit floating point processing.

Midas Neutron: fully processing on each channel

Channel processing is as comprehensive as you would expect from a brand such as Midas - with a wide array of options, nothing is left to chance. The good thing is that this unlimited number of options can be controlled per channel. As such, you won't need big effects racks anymore, you can simply arrange everything digitally. Each input channel features delay, high and low-pass filters, insert point, gate, compressor, and parametric EQ. For each output channel, you can adjust that parametric EQ, as well as insert, delay, and the dynamics.

Dual Input Gains & Equalisation

Combining the PRO X with the Neutron, leaves you with two input gains per channel: one is the legendary analogue Midas preamp, while the other is a digital gain. You can simply set the analogue gain for the desired amount of that famous, warm Midas sound. The digital gain can be used to take on the entire gain structure with effects and equalizer. The built-in EQs are based on the best EQs out there, and offer you full control over the entire frequency band.

Features to spare

Midas stands for quality and durability but even the best products might wear out after a while. Luckily, Midas anticipates on that with the Neutron. For instance, it features three power supplies. You might wonder if that's really necessary. However, the main advantage is that the Neutron only requires two power supplies to work at full power. Should anything go wrong during your live gig and one power supply gives up the ghost, the Neutron automatically switches to another power supply. You won't hear anything in your sound but you do get a notification by means of status LEDs on the front of the Neutron.
