General

The Meinl-made MPDS1 Digital Stomp Box puts 5 percussive sounds at your feet: a great sounding kick drum, a cowbell, hi-hat, tambourine, and a crash. Since this literal stomp-box comes fitted with a USB port, you could always just load in your own bespoke sample. On the left side of the pedal, a dial knob is fitted so you can select the sample you want to play back, so you can choose from sample A, B, C, D, E, or F: your own sample, while the volume control is also found on the side. This pedal is powered by a 9V power supply, made from sleekly finished mahogany with an anti-slip rubber base, and is powered by an internal, velocity-sensitive piezo trigger so you can play with maximum dynamics, from soft and subtle to full-on and hard. The MPDS1 is hooked up to your amp using the standard 6.3mm jack output, and your guitar or keyboard signal can also be run through via the jack input, removing the need for two amps. This little wooden box has been designed to make the most of the tapping feet of percussionists, singer-songwriters, and multi-instrumentalists.

The Optional Meinl Stomp Box Mount: For a Kick Drum Feel

Of course, you can play the Stomp Box with your foot, but if you want more of a kick-drum-style feel, then you could pick up the purpose made Stomp Box Mount (not included). Combine it with a kick pedal, and you can play the Stomp Box like as bass drum.

Alesis Sample Pad 4 - Ideal for Ensembles

Tuesday 3 November 2015

Let's be honest; a large drum is great to look at, but it's also cumbersome and quite expensive. The same goes for a number of other instruments. Beautiful as they are to behold, not all musical instruments are equally manageable. Fortunately, Alesis offers a practical alternative with their Sample Pad 4.

NAMM 2016 has only just begun, but Roland already revealed something pretty special: the Roland EC-10 EL Cajon! At first glance, you might mistake it for a regular cajon, but Roland wouldn't be Roland if they didn't a few clever electronic surprises to the mix. The EL (Electronic Layered) Cajon is a hybrid cajon that allows you to embellish the acoustic cajon sound with various percussion and drum samples.

The Roland SPD-SX PRO: The Boss of All Sampling Pads

Tuesday 20 September 2022 By Kim | Bax Music

It's already been ten years since the release of the Roland SPD-SX: a solid and reliable sidekick for drummers and musicians alike that, due to its age, now has a few noticeable limitations. As such, the all-new SPD-SX PRO is a direct response to user feedback, and since it does everything that the OG did but does it even better, Roland have basically dropped the new end-boss of the sampling pad universe.
