General

The BK-9 is the flagship of Roland's backing keyboard series. This impressive, professional keyboard features 76 keys, 9 drawbars and a double LCD display. A wide variety of sounds is at your disposal, ready to be spiced up with the effects of the newly developed MFX processor. No less than five effect processors can be used simultaneously, for both rhythm parts and solo parts. In many regards, the BK-9 offers the best tools for (solo) performers. Think of the new Chord Looper, for instance, which enables you to play and loop chord sequences, allowing you to fully focus on your solo parts, which can be played over the loop. The Pianist Mode offers you all the freedom you require: it allows you to play the entire keyboard, while the BK-9 analyses the chords and provides an appropriate backing track.

Advanced sound palette

The Roland BK-9 offers an impressive 1,700 sounds, providing for any possible music style, from classic to modern and from ballroom to techno. A number of SuperNATURAL presets are included. These sounds are ultra-realistic due to the addition of various dynamic nuances: trumpets can provide glissandi, while guitars may sound as if they were played with a slide or with dampened strings. Four assignable buttons allow you to add extra articulations, making your solos sound more lively than ever before. Those solos are supported by world-class rhythm styles, a large part of which is based on world-wide hits, allowing for a varied repertoire. Four intros, endings and variations are provided for each style, which means your backing parts always sound fresh.

Sequencer, MP3, USB and MIDI

Would you like to work on arrangements or create your own compositions? Simply use the 16-track sequencer. With the help of the effect processor, reverb and chorus, your music productions will sound rich and realistic. A double USB connector allows you to play MP3 files, and to connect the keyboard to a computer in order to control your software. Traditional MIDI connectors are also provided. The Roland BK-9 is the ideal instrument for anyone who performs solo or with a small band at events that require a varied repertoire. It has a simple and ergonomic layout, and offers a wide variety of sounds and world-class rhythm styles.
