Alongside the popular Wavedrum, Korg also offers the Wavedrum Mini, a dynamic percussion synthesizer. The Wavedrum Mini features a newly developed sensor clip that can be attached to any object, like the edge of your shoe or a cup, enabling it to function as a percussion instrument. Using the Wavedrum Mini and the sensor clip, you're able to produce two sounds simultaneously.
In addition to its expressive, dynamic pad and sensor clip, this Korg dynamic percussion synth offers a number of other fantastic features, including a built-in speaker with volume control, various effects and a loop function.

Wat de selecteerbare instrumenten betreft heb je een ruime keuze tussen 100 verschillende instrumenten.Helaas is het soms wel zoeken(zelfs aangesloten op een versterker) hoe ze klinken.Sommige geluiden vragen om slechts een lichte slag op het vel om hoorbaar te zijn terwijl anderen weer het tegendeel eisen.Maar ieder vind wel voldoende instrumenten naar zijn/haar gading,dat is zeker!
Wat de loops betreft was ik licht teleurgesteld doordat er zo weinig "zachte ritmes" tussenzaten.Eens je op een loop(4x4 maten) begint te werken kan je hierop wél een onbeperkt aantal zelf ingespeelde layers leggen(alles gaat wel verloren als je van loop veranderd of de wavedrum-mini uitschakeld).
De clip,het uithangbord van dit model,doet wat hij moet doen;elk(resonered) voorwerp omtoveren tot een instrument(ook weer te kiezen uit de 100-sounds database).Het vergt niet veel oefening om in combinatie met de drumpad zelf snel tot resultaat te komen.
conclusie.
De wavedrum-mini is een goed afgewerkt product.De hardware voelt robust aan en ligt goed in de hand(of kan handig op het dijbeen worden vastgemaakt met de bijgeleverde strap).Het pad is wat het is;een rubber vel.Na een uurtje spelen ben je dit echter vergeten... De mogelijkheden zijn redelijk uitgebreid hoewel men beter had geopteerd om een (instelbare)metronoom bij de loops te plaatsen zodat je niet verplicht bent om van een bestaande loop als achtergrond uit te gaan waneer je in layers wil werken.
bottomline.
De wavedrum-mini is wat zijn naam zegt;de mini waverdum met beperktere mogelijkheden maar voor wie graag buitenshuis muziek maakt een betaalbaar alternatief.
