The body of this Yamaha LJ6 ARE is available in three different sizes, including this medium jumbo size, which is ideal for playing comfortably while seated. The sound and dynamic range of this Brown Sunburst model are exceptional, and you can enjoy attractive details in the looks, such as the tortoise pickguard and the gold-plated tuners. This LJ6 ARE features a solid Engelmann spruce top, which is a relatively rare and much-loved tonewood that offers excellent resonance, and you wouldn't be hard-pressed to find a guitar artisan who enthusiastically calls it the best. Thanks to the addition of solid rosewood sides and back, this guitar offers a responsive, open sound with outstanding balance.
Yamaha LJ6 ARE: SRT Zero Impact
The ingenious SRT Zero Impact pickup system is featured on all of the models in this series. It features smaller piezo pickups per string that will convert your playing in all its glory into an electric signal. All you have to do is plug a guitar cable into the jack and connect the other end to an amplifier, and you can adjust your sound from there! Because this system doesn't include an extra preamp box on your guitar, it means this model retains its sleek, classic look. You'll also be able to enjoy comfortable, supple playing thanks to the improved 5-piece mahogany/rosewood neck. The neck is actually, in part, connected with the headstock and body by way of an adjustable truss rod, which offers added stability for optimal sound. Finally, the fretboard features mother-of pearl position markers, which combine beautifully with the die-cast gold tuners.
Acoustic Resonance Enhancement
A remarkable feature of the LJ6 ARE is that the top was processed with the special Yamaha ARE wood enhancing technology. This is a process whereby the molecular makeup of the Engelmann spruce is actually changed by carefully adjusting the temperature, air pressure and moisture of the wood. The results are astounding: the spruce settles and takes on the full, rich sound characteristics of vintage wood! Typically you'd have to wait years for such a mature sound, but Yamaha has found a way to provide it to you with a brand new instrument, right out of the box. The beautiful, comfortable Yamaha LL6 ARE also comes with a gig bag, so you can take it with you wherever you go.
