Exclusive SRT Modelling Technology of the APX1200

The APX1200 TBL is equipped with Yamaha's advanced modelling preamplifier with Studio Response Technology, or, SRT. Traditionally, the electronic sound of an electro-acoustic guitar has been nothing more than amplified sound from the pickup. Thanks to the SRT system though, you can expect realism, because it sounds as if there is a microphone in front of your guitar, as though you were in a professional studio. The acoustic resonance of the guitar and dynamics of your playing are optimally reproduced by the built-in microphone simulators.

System62 preamp with versatile tone control

With the System62 preamplifier of the Yamaha APX1200 , you can choose from three high-quality microphone types: the Neumann U67, Neumann KM56k and the Royer R-122. You can additionally use the Focus/Wide knob to choose the positioning of the simulated microphones, so they can sound close or far away. Use the Blend knob to mix the sound of the built-in piëzo pickup with your chosen microphone simulator, or highlight the natural acoustic sound of the guitar with the Resonance knob. Of course you also have volume control and a 3-band equalizer at your disposal. With all of this, there's still room for a digital tuner with clear LEDs that are visible on the darkest of stages. Finally, use the Auto Feedback Reduction function to avoid feedback.

The Yamaha APX1200 TBL offers fantastic playability, thanks to its smooth neck and comfortable thin body. With the addition of a cutaway it's easy to reach the highest of the 22 frets.
