Among the top ranks of Yamaha's APX series of electro-acoustic guitars is the beautiful APX1000. This pearl white guitar is dressed to impress and has not only a sleek appearance but also excellent sound and playability. Its body is stylish and comfortably thin with a fast, thin neck that feels as supple as that of an electric guitar. Additionally, it produces a fantastic acoustic sound with tight lows, sparkling mids and balanced highs. Thanks to the advanced SRT electronics, the excellent acoustic sound is masterfully translated with precision to produce a reliable amplified sound.

SRT modelling technology of the APX1000 PW

Electro-acoustic guitars are incredibly effective in live situations because you are able to adjust the volume to match the dynamics of the other instruments onstage. But the sound of these guitars is actually nothing more than the amplified sound from the built-in pickup, so the real acoustic resonance and character of your guitar are lost. With Yamaha's Studio Response Technology (SRT) it's as if there's a microphone there in front of your guitar, just like in a professional recording studio.

The System63 SRT preamplifier from the Yamaha APX1000 is equipped with advanced modelling technology that gives you the option of choosing from three different top-class microphone simulations and their positioning: the Neumann U67, Neumann KM56 and the Royer R122. You can blend these microphones with the sound of the built-in piezo pickup for even more sound precision, and you can further emphasize the natural acoustic sound of the guitar with the Resonance function. Thanks to the Auto Feedback Reduction function, you can avoid getting feedback on stage. Additionally, the preamp is equipped with volume control, 3-band EQ and a built-in chromatic tuner that lights the way to precise tuning on even the darkest of stages.

Eye for detail

The neck of the APX1000 PW features mother-of-pearl position markers in the style of the popular Yamaha SG series, and the characteristic oval APX sound hole is stylishly finished with wood and abalone inlays. This beautiful electro-acoustic guitar is additionally equipped with an elegantly-formed cutaway so you have easy access to the highest of the 23 frets. Wrote the following about Yamaha APX1000 PW electro-acoustic steel-string guitar Pearl White

I bought this guitar because I needed it for the stage: if you are after a guitar you can plug into an amp, and feels like an electric, this is the one for you. Its action can go very low if you adjust the truss-rod a little bit, and that way it will be easier to play, up to the higher frets. This guitar is also robust and well built, and its sound is good both acoustic and amplified (obviously the thin body won't give you the full sound of a dreadnought). You will have to tune the various options in the electronics to your preferred sound, and also adjust the settings of your amp. I needed a white guitar so that when I go basking during a sunny hot day, it won't attract too much heat, like for example a black guitar would do, so it won't cause me the problem of a overheated surface close to me when I play, I mean the summer where I live gets very hot... This white look is both beautiful and a blessing. I would buy it again, I think this is the best acoustic guitar in commerce that best emulates an electric. It is also very good for finger-style. It's not that heavy either if you want to stand when you play.
