James Neligan ASY-DCE electro-acoustic steel-string guitar

This guitar is made in China, although the James Nelligan brand seems to be registered in Canada.

It is a well-made guitar for the price and my example with its solid spruce top is better musically than my French hand-finished guitar, though not quite as fancy or such a piece of craftsmanship. It throbs with resonance when played and has a better treble response which, as well as more easily played cords high up on the neck, I particularly wanted. The fretting is adequate although I have found it necessary to insert a 1/16" piece of transparent plastic in front of the nut for the E and A strings, so as to lower the tension of those strings and thus bring the pitches of the frets above more true. But I am very finicky about tuning! ,(I play semi-professionally.) The supplied strings by D'addario are excellent and give a good, zingy response. The neck is nice and thin and comfortable to work with. In all, for the price -- and I paid a little less than the price at 25/01/20 -- a tremendous bargain for a beginner or experienced player adding to his or her collection.

Mooie fijne bewerking van het hout. Voor wie er van houdt.
Geluid is verbazingwekkend voor deze prijs!
(heb er wel andere snaren op gezet en even laten afstellen door een Luthier)
