General
The Fender Hellcat Black Ruby is the 10th anniversary edition of Tim Armstrong's own signature model. Coated in black, this tasteful electro-acoustic guitar has been made attainable for any purist punk-rock guitarist whether or not they're dedicated Rancid fans. Packed with the same specifications as the original, the only difference here is the high-gloss lacquer and walnut fretboard. You still get the white pearloid Hellcat position markers, the Double Skull inlay at the twelfth fret, and the signature of the Rancid frontman himself inscribed on the truss rod cover.
The Tim Armstrong Hellcat: Forceful Acoustic Sound
The concert body shape has been built by a mahogany back and sides topped with a solid spruce soundboard so you get that rich, spruce-based brightness backed up by the full-cream accents of mahogany. Subtle definition is provided by the glued-in maple neck while comfort is assured by the C-profile shaping. This Tim Armstrong signature bears as much presence in both look and sound as its ten-year-old ancestor and plays just as beautifully.
Fishman Isys III Preamp
The Fender Tim Armstrong Hellcat also comes thoughtfully equipped with the full force of a Fishman Isys III amplification system with a high-end piëzo pickup and a preamp with active tone controls, so you can sculpt your on-stage and studio sound using an accurate 3-band equalizer. Tuning this guitar is also a joy in itself thanks to the built-in tuner and clear display, so whether you plug it in or not, the Hellcat can purr as well as roar!

The neck has a natural finish that contrasts beautifully with the rest of the body. If you want one, you'll have to be quick though, because only 68 of these have been made!
