General
This Fender Redondo Special is an all-solid electro-acoustic steel-string dreadnought guitar with a 6-in-line Strat-style headstock that's equipped with vintage-style machine heads. The top is made of solid sitka spruce while the back and sides are made of solid mahogany. The neck is made of mahogany too and has a slim taper C profile and a pau ferro fretboard with a 15.75-inch radius for optimal playing comfort.
Redondo Special: sound
The wood types used ensure that this Fender Redondo produces a full sound that lives up to its potential with good articulation and great resonance too. No matter whether you play with your fingers or a plectrum, you'll enjoy the excellent dynamics this instrument is capable of producing. For a well-balanced amplified sound, the Redondo is equipped with a piezo pickup and a preamplifier that was jointly developed by Fender and Fishman and specially voiced for its body shape.
