Tight playability backed up by big amplified sound, the all-solid parlor body of this outstanding Fender Paramount Series electro-acoustic boasts more power than you'd expect. The PS-220E steel-string has a full solid mahogany build, from the soundboard to the neck, which combines with re-designed X-bracing to lay down a sweet and woody, organic acoustic foundation packed with rich resonance and rounded trebles. This uncompromising acoustic guitar comes complete with a deluxe hardshell case.

The Fender PS-220E Electro-Acoustic: Natural & Inspired

The amplified sound of the PS-220E is just as natural as the acoustic sound thanks to the collaborative Fender and Fishman designed electronics. The newly developed Sonitone Plus Soundhole Pickup System combines an undersaddle piezo pickup with a body-sensing pickup mounted beneath the solid soundboard, the output and volume of which can be balanced via the discreet blend and volume control pots fitted just inside the soundhole. To finish, your fret-hand is treated to the familiar feel of a slim-taper C-profile neck and a smooth satin-gloss finish, completing a trusty, Fender-grade performance partner.

Wrote the following about Fender PS-220E Parlor All Mahogany Aged Cognac Burst Electro-Acoustic Guitar with Case

Mijn eerste ervaring met een Parlor-model en meteen een schot in de roos. Hij is kleiner en lichter van gewicht in vergelijking met mijn favoriete Taylor Grand Auditorium en het geluid is ook anders. Het was even wennen, maar na een dag was ik verliefd op deze nieuwe gitaar. Het geluid is minder zwaar dan de grotere western-gitaren en daardoor past het beter bij mijn stem, als ik mezelf begeleid. Een totaal nieuwe gewaarwoording is ook dat mijn vingers haast vanzelf nieuwe melodiën vinden. Hoe dat mogelijk is, begrijp ik nog steeds niet.

De gitaar is bijzonder fraai gebouwd en ik heb geen enkele onvolkomenheid kunnen ontdekken. Hij was na een een uurtje meteen al stemvast. Ik heb ook tot dusver ook nog niet aan de trustrodd gezeten, aangezien de action voor mij meteen al optimaal was. Hij werd geleverd met 80/20 bronze snaren met dikte 0.12 tot 0.52 inch. De hoge snaren klinken helder en sprankelend, de lagere snaren naar wat droger en doffer, wat mij bij fingerpicking goed uitkomt.

Als ik een goede gitaar heb gevonden, wil ik daarna zo snel mogelijk een geschikte koffer vinden, om zo te voorkomen dat de gitaar wordt beschadigd als ik hem niet gebruik of mee wil nemen. Dat valt soms niet mee. Maar bij bij deze Fender PS-220E is dat probleem meteen al opgelost, aangezien de koffer direct wordt meegeleverd. En niet een eenvoudig koffertje, maar één van de hoogste kwaliteit, waarin de gitaar echt preciés past. Grote klasse.

Qua elektrische bassen en gitaren was ik altijd al een Fender-fan, maar nu heb ik ontdekt dat er dus ook hele fijne acoustische Fender-gitaren zijn.
