General
Fender's all-solid Newporter Special is a 000 electro-acoustic steel-string guitar with a neck profile that's more commonly found on electric guitars. This, combined with the flatter 15.75-inch radius on the pau ferro fretboard, makes this guitar extremely comfortable to play.
Newporter Special: solid woods, great sound
The Newporter Special has a neck, back and sides made of solid mahogany with a top made of solid spruce. These wood types combine to give this model its rich, warm and bright sound with excellent resonance. In order to reproduce the acoustic sound accurately, Fender enlisted the help of Fishman to create a preamp especially for the Newporter's body. Whether you amplify it, or play it acoustically with your fingers or a plectrum, you'll be able to enjoy all of the sounds this excellent electro-acoustic is capable of producing.

Monday 19 October 2015Fans of punk in general, and Tim Armstrong in particular, are in for a treat. Fender has created a new version of the Tim Armstrong Hellcat in a matte black finish. The neck has a natural finish that contrasts beautifully with the rest of the body. If you want one, you'll have to be quick though, because only 68 of these have been made!
