If you're looking for an elegant parlour-style steel-string electro-acoustic guitar, Fender's Malibu Classic from the California series is an excellent choice. It has a compact body and it's comfortable to play and versatile too. Like other guitars in the California series, it has a neck that feels more like one you'd normally find on a Stratocaster, for instance. That means it has a flatter fretboard with a modern radius and a slim taper C neck profile for improved playing comfort.
Malibu Classic: all-solid, dynamic and a special preamp
Surf guitar legend Dick Dale and punk rock guitarist Matt Skiba (Alkaline Trio / Blink-182) are just two famous names who are fans of the Malibu. This Classic model is the more luxurious-looking all-solid version which also boasts better resonance. Both fingerpickers as well as those who play with a plectrum will enjoy its rich sound with warm, well-defined trebles. This Malibu features a preamplifier that was jointly developed by Fender and Fishman so you can be assured that the acoustic sound will be faithfully reproduced when amplified.
