General

The Malibu Player electro-acoustic puts Fender-grade build quality within affordable reach and offers a compact introduction to one of the most popular instruments on Earth. The C-profile neck has a Stratocaster-style feel, especially since it comes topped with a signature Strat headstock, and this thinner-than-average neck has been coupled with a shallow, slimline body to result in comfortable playability for fully grown guitarists with a shorter posture, or even growing kids.

The Malibu Player: Volume, Dynamics, Definition & Style

Besides a smaller body and fast neck, this Fender flat-top has a short and snug scale length of 24.1 inches, giving a medium-tension set of strings a lighter, more loose feel under the fret-hand. And while the sound of the parlor-style body would usually shape less bass, the solid spruce soundboard and mahogany sides and back deliver more than enough volume, dynamics, and definition to make up for it, while the Graph Tech NuBone nut and saddle support rich overtones, excellent vibrational transfer, and firm tuning. All of this is amplified with balance thanks to a fitted piezo pickup and Fishman preamp system complete with tone controls and built-in tuner, so you can plug this stage-ready model straight into an acoustic amplifier, PA system, or audio interface.
