General

The RCE159MN is an electro-acoustic classical guitar from Ortega's Feel series with a slightly slimmer neck than standard models which makes it extremely comfortable to play. It has a body made of walnut with a solid Canadian cedar top that give it a great sound with warmth, sweetness and some punch.

RCE159MN: playing comfort and preamp

The 50 mm string nut also enhances the playing comfort and the cutaway on the body ensures that you can easily reach all of the 19 frets too. This model also has a Spanish heel which is not only extremely stable, it guarantees optimal transference of the string vibrations to the body. There's also a 2-way truss rod that allows easy neck adjustments and the RCE159MN is equipped with an Ortega MagusPro preamplifier which means you can plug it into an amp too. The preamp has a 3-band EQ on board and a built-in tuner. A gig bag is included as well.

Ik heb een klassieke gitaar met 52 mm hals waar ik het meest op speel. Ik heb ook een akoestische gitaar met een smalle hals waar ik nauwelijks meer op speel omdat ik het toch lastig spelen vind met een smalle hals. Deze 50mm hals heeft net de juiste breedte en speelt lekker en vlot. De klank is prettig warm en hij klinkt mooi in het hoog. Hij speelt prettig, maar ik denk dat het voor mij beter kan als ik de bolling van de hals naar eigen smaak aanpas. Ik weet dat het kan met deze gitaar, ik heb dat alleen nog niet gedaan. Ga ik zeker nog doen. Ik heb hem ook nog niet versterkt uitgeprobeerd, maar ik vind het belangrijk dat een gitaar onversterkt goed klinkt. En dat doet deze Ortega. De prijs-kwaliteitverhouding van deze gitaar is echt prima. En je krijgt er ook nog een mooie gigbag bij.

Ik ben intussen reeds een trouwe klant geworden bij Bax-Music (de muziekwinkel van ons allemaal) voor de kwaliteitsvolle producten en goeie service. Dit is ondertussen mijn derde gitaar van bij Bax. De andere twee zijn een Les Paul elektrische en een elektr/akoestische western-gitaar. Ben zeer blij met deze gitaar omwille van de mooie klank met veel definitie in het hoog en een warme basisklank door het Grand Auditorium formaat en de gebruikte houtsoorten. Ze blijft ook mooi op stemming. Het ganse pakket, gitaar met versterker en Ortega gigbag is zijn prijs meer dan waard. Bij een ander merk mag je een prijs verwachten met nog een 1 ervoor!

Ik heb de gitaar nu een weekje in huis en ben zeer te spreken over de klank en het speelgemak van dit instrument. Ook versterkt klinkt de Ortega heel goed. Ik heb zelf een klassieke Spaanse gitaar en een semi-akoestische Yamaha met stalen snaren en een smalle hals. Die Yamaha heeft een mooi geluid en is prima te versterken, maar ik heb problemen met de stalen snaren: als je niet dagelijks speelt heb je te weinig eelt op je vingers. Mijn Spaanse gitaar speelt makkelijk, maar is niet goed te versterken. Met deze Ortega gitaar heb ik een uitstekend compromis, qua geluid en bespeelbaarheid. Een aanrader, ik ben er heel blij mee.
