General

The Yamaha RGX121Z is an affordable, versatile and incredibly complete guitar, perfect for beginners and advanced guitarists on a budget. This guitar has a sturdy build with great comfort and playability. The sound is great too, as the RGX121Z is equipped with two wicked humbucker pickups and a sparkling single coil that come together to provide you with a broad palette of sounds with something for every music style. Finally, the RGX121Z FLS has a Flat Silver finish with black chrome hardware.

Yamaha RGX121Z FLS: shredder mentality

Just like its big brothers, the RGX220DZ and the RGX420DZII, the RGX121Z also has a comfortable body with two cutaways, making it easy for you to reach the highest of the 22 frets. Furthermore, the RGX series is known for their fast necks, thanks to their thin design and the broad, practically flat fretboard. The back of the neck also has a matte finish so your hands won't stick while you play. All in all, this neck is ideal for those 1,000-note-per-minute shred solos over the entire neck! The hardware featured on the Yamaha RGX121Z consists of a set of sturdy, stable self-lubricating tuners and a vintage-style tremolo bridge that you can use to change the string tension for subtle to drastic vibrato effects.

Versatile H-S-H pickup configuration

No matter what your taste in music is, with the Yamaha RGX121Z FLS you'll always be able to find just the right sound. This guitar is equipped with humbuckers in the bridge and neck position with a single-coil pickup sandwiched between them. The humbuckers produce a higher output than the single coil, with a fuller, warmer sound, making them ideal for rougher work from blues rock to metal. The bright, clear sound of the single-coil is perfect for funky cleans, and with the 5-way switch you can choose to use any these three pickups or two combinations of them.
