The 112V guitars from the ever popular Yamaha Pacifica Series have been given a welcome update in the sleek form and thick sound of the 112VM. The set-in maple neck and fretboard gives this model its solid core and newly sharpened, edgy twang, while the classic finish of the ST-style body compliments the light wood of the neck. Since this affordable model comes loaded with subtle (and usually expensive) modern details like a slightly flattened 13.75" fretboard radius, the level of playing comfort it provides is as contemporary as it gets.

The Pacifica 112VM: Versatile Tone and Full, Transparent Alnico V Sound

As soon as this Yamaha guitar is plugged in, the three mounted pickups are activated. At the neck and in the middle, you get that unmistakable Alnico V single-coil sound while a fat Alnico V humbucker adds thickness at the bridge. Toggle the configuration using the five-way selector switch and, by popping out the push-pull tone pot, you can even coil-tap the humbucker and split it in two for even more single-coil driven tone. The amplified sound of the 112VM has a full foundation with plenty of depth and presence in the low-end, a light midrange-scoop, and the distinctive sparkle that can only come from a maple neck.
