General

Due to its scarce presence in the guitar market in the last few decades, the VOX Phantom has earned quite a ghostly reputation. Now, that unique pentagonal guitar has been resurrected in the form of the modern - and more affordable - VOX Mark V (this is the Seafoam model). One of the most recognizable electric guitar models from guitar history is now within hand's reach!

The sound of the Mark V Seafoam

The Mark V comes with a gig bag because it's meant for much more than stage decoration - even though it does certainly add a nice look to the stage. VOX equipped the guitar with the common three single-coil pickup setup, which makes the Phantom suited for a wide variety of styles, from rock, funk and country to punk and blues. A five-way pickup switch and a tone knob allow you to adjust the timbre, and you can add subtle (or not so subtle) vibrato effects with the tremolo bridge.

VOX Teardrop and Phantom

The unique design of the VOX Teardrop and Phantom guitars dates back to the early sixties and still captures the imagination today. It's no wonder that second-hand models sold for high prices in the long period that VOX wasn't producing these electric guitars. However, lucky for you, some time ago they came out with the comparable Apache series, and not long after that VOX brought out the Mark III and the Mark V, due to popular demand.
