General

The Vintage V120GHB is a straight-up, no-fuss rock guitar. Simple yet greatly effective, this single-cut model comes with a single pickup, a solid wrap-around bridge and a volume and tone knob. No modern gadgets, just plug it in and play blues, punk, hard-rock or any other style. Finished in brilliant Gun Hill Blue, this electric guitar is a great match for beginners or more advanced players with a bit of a tighter budget.

The Vintage V120GHB: Quality Parts

For the body and neck of the V120, Vintage used mahogany. This gives the guitar a full, warm foundation sound with enough bright bite. Both parts have been glued together for more directness and enhanced sustain, while the partly-adjustable Wilkinson wrap-around bridge helps to ensure optimal intonation. The machine heads and the 'dog-ear' pickup, a P-90 in this case, come from Wilkinson as well, and the pickup has a stacked design for a fat and powerful P-90 sound without that annoying 50Hz hum.

Vintage Guitars started out as a budget brand that unfortunately garnered a number of negative reviews. However, that changed drastically when Trevor Wilkinson, famed for his affordable yet high-quality guitar parts, attached his name to the Vintage brand. Not only did hardware division receive a shot of quality, but the wood selection and construction methods were also greatly improved. Since then, Vintage has made a name for itself by offering excellent value for money and now holds its own among the ferocious competition in this price range.

Qua prijs/kwaliteit verhouding zeer goede gitaar. Het draait allemaal om de pickup. Je krijgt er maar één, maar dat is wel en hele goede. De stacked P90 geeft een heldere sound en krachtige output. de verdere hardware voelt prima aan. In de afwerking zitten wel een paar kleine schoonheidsfoutjes. de topkam steekt iets uit en het einde van het fretboard is niet netjes afgelakt. Maar over het geheel genomen een solide gitaar die bedoeld is om op te spelen, niet om aan de muur te hangen.
