Following the success of the Music Man Mariposa, it was just a matter of time before Sterling by Music Man treated us to a more affordable version. Fortunately, it's finally here so let's dive right in! Developed in collaboration with Omar Rodríguez-López (The Mars Volta, At the Drive-In), this beautifully attainable Mariposa model features a jagged, off-set nyatoh body, chrome-plated hardware and a matching white scratchplate, making it a great pick for single-minded and more experimental guitarists alike.
The Sterling by Music Man Mariposa: Distinctly Modern
All instruments built by Sterling by Music Man offer distinctively satisfying playability, and, since it comes fitted with a stable roasted maple neck and 22-fret rosewood fretboard, the Mariposa is no different. Its high playing comfort stems from a trusty 12-inch fretboard radius, which gives way to tight chords and fast leads while, thanks to the two specially-developed passive humbuckers, the Mariposa immediately responds to even the most nuanced playing dynamics. Finished with two volume pots, a 3-way pickup switch and a vintage tremolo bridge, this unique axe can easily blow open up an exceptionally broad tonal spectrum.
