General
Taking all its cues from vintage sixties Fender classics, the Squier Classic Vibe 60s Series presents a throwback Telecaster Thinline packed with all the trimmings, including a tinted maple neck, sixties-style headstock decals, and a semi-hollow body complete with an f-hole. Warm amplified sound is supplied by a pair of Fender Designed Alnico single-coil pickups which can be varied at will via the fitted volume and tone pots and three-way selector switch, while more-modern playing comfort is piled on by the slimmer-than-average C-profile carve of the neck, the flatter-than-average 9.5 inch fretboard radius, and the lighter feel of a set of narrow-tall frets.

Wat betreft het geluid had ik op meer resonantie gehoopt, maar mijn ervaring met Thinlines is beperkt. De pickups zijn echt de zwakke schakel. Niet superslecht, maar met een output van rond de 7.5 per stuk had ik meer punch en dynamiek verwacht. Die heb ik vervangen met een setje Toneriders (waarbij opviel dat de gebruikte pots en de schakelaar wederom van betere kwaliteit waren dan ik had verwacht) en dat maakt een wereld van verschil, terwijl de output niet heel veel hoger is (9 bij de brug en 7.8 bij de nek).
Al met al een prima gitaar voor de prijs.
