General
Hitting every mark when it comes to carving out an ultra-flexible and solidly reliable instrument, the much-loved Canadian guitarist unleashes the Schecter Nick Johnston Traditional signature model, complete with HSS configuration. Starting with a solid alder body, the Traditional has been kitted out with a passive Schecter Diamond '78 humbucker at the bridge and a Schecter Diamond Nick Johnston single-coil at the neck and middle positions. This setup is fully supported by a five-way selector switch and a push/pull tone pot, resulting in elastic, fully adaptable tone. And thanks to the smooth action of the stable two-point tremolo bridge, subtle to extreme vibrato effects are a given.
The Schecter Nick Johnston Traditional HSS: Smooth Playability
On top of the outstanding sonic range this guitar affords, the playability has been made as smooth and comfortable as it gets. The maple neck has been roasted to boost stability and comes finished with a Thin-C profile, an ebony fretboard with a modern 14 inch radius, and the extra-light feel of a set of twenty-two jumbo frets. This combo doesn't just speed up fret navigation but increases sustain. Smaller but no-less-essential details include the firm tuning supplied by a Graph Tech XL Black TUSQ nut and a set of Schecter locking machine heads, and the minimal elegance provided by a set of brass-circle position markers.
