General

Ormsby is an Australian guitar company whose products include this Hype GTR 7 which is a 7-string electric guitar known as a multiscale. That means its scale length measures 25.5 inches at the highest string and 27.8 inches at the lowest string for optimal comfort when playing both chords and solo notes. It also has fanned frets which match the natural position of your fingers more closely than standard frets. These features make the Ormsby Hype GTR 7 a real joy to play. This unique model comes complete with a custom hard case.

Hype GTR 7: wood types and sound

The body of this multiscale guitar is made of swamp ash, which is lightweight and has excellent resonance. It gives the guitar a bright sound, even the low B string. The bass is tight with a lightly scooped midrange, making this model a great choice for rock and metal guitarists. The set-in neck ensures excellent sustain and allows easy access to the highest frets. The neck is made of maple and features a black ebony fretboard with 24 stainless steel frets.

Top-quality components

Another feature that really stands out on this 7-string model is the uniquely-shaped headstock. The Hype GTR 7 is equipped with Hipshot locking machine heads and a fixed Hipshot bridge which both enhance the tuning stability. Finally, a wide array of sounds are at your disposal thanks to the Nunchucker pickup in the bridge position, the De La Creme pickup at the neck, and the push/pull tone potentiometer which allows you to split the powerful humbuckers.
