General
Unlike some of the more distinctive models in the V-shaped guitar line-up from Jackson, the Rhoads RR Minion JS1X actually speaks to a surprisingly wide range of players. From ambitious youngsters to veteran rockers nurturing '80s-based nostalgia, this electric guitar equipped with a Speed Neck is the perfect beginner (or begin-again) model. The Jackson Rhoads RR Minion JS1X will work for children as young as 8 years old, but it's also a great travel guitar or back-up instrument for grown-ups looking to expand their collection with a real, and really small Jackson.
The Rhoads Minion JS1X: Solid Build
Jackson has chosen poplar for the body of this guitar, which gives it a balanced tone that's ideal for rock and metal. The JS1X also has a fixed bridge which offers excellent tuning stability and resonance and, just like more expensive Jackson guitars, this model has a reverse headstock to improve the string tension between it and the string nut. Finally, two more-than-potent humbuckers deliver that unmistakable Jackson sound, either in the form of warm cleans, brutal overdrive or somewhere nicely in between.
