If you're a fan of 8-string guitars, and you want more tension on the thick strings and less on the thin ones, the you'll love the Ibanez RGIM8MH Iron Label Weathered Black electric guitar with a multi-scale fretboard. The scale length measures 27.26 inches at the low F# or F and gradually goes up to the standard 25.5 inches at the high E. The compensated Mono-rail bridge offers extra stability and sustain and it features two EMG 909 humbuckers for a balanced, defined, and powerful amplified sound.

Vengo de las 6 cuerdas, a pesar de que he probado muchas 7 cuerdas y tenía algo de miedo al comprar una 8. Cuando abres el paquete, ves el mástil realmente ancho, pero una vez que la tienes en la mano, notas que es muy cómoda. Se percibe mas ancho que las 6/7, pero no por ello mas incómodo, para mi, todo lo contrario.

Las 8 cuerdas dan muchísimo juego, pero es cuestión de la creatividad de cada uno. He leído comentarios sobre que los bending-vibrato son mas dificiles.... sinceramente, si sabes hacer un buen vibrato en una 6, sabrás hacerlo en una de 8. Ahí la limitación son las manos, no la guitarra.



Sonido: las pastillas son planas, como todas las EMGs, individualizan cada cuerda, cosa que a mi me gusta. En limpios, no está mal, aunque para limpios le falta algo de brillo. La madera-puente dan bastante sustain, y en general de sonido, para mi cumple con lo que busco.



Multiescala: respecto a esto, seré breve. No se nota, es algo que engaña a la vista, pero nada a las manos. Es como tocar una guitarra normal, pero notas que conforme vas bajando por las cuerdas, la tensión de las cuerdas aumenta, que es para lo está hecho este sistema. Personalmente, si pruebas una multiescala, querrás una multiescala para siempre.



Cuerdas: el calibre que trae, es correcto, 9-80. No se de que marca serán, pero acostumbrado a las Ernie Ball, no me acaban de convencer. Algo que se arregla con un juego nuevo, asi que ningún problema.



Fabricación: es una guitarra sólida, no es muy pesada, y está bien construída (algo que es de esperar de una guitarra que ronda los 1000€). No tiene defectos de fabricación aparentes, aunque sólo llevo con ella 2 semanas, así que no puedo hablar de la duración, pero son buenas maderas (caoba-arce-bubinga-roswood), así que espero una larga vida de ella.



Defectos: lo que realmente odio, es que no traiga inlays. No es defecto de la guitarra, ya que todas las Iron label son así, con lo que me compraré unos inlays adhesivos.



La recomiendo, a todo aquel que sepa lo que quiere. Gran rango sonoro, alta ganancia, metal pesado... Si lo que te gusta es versionear a Queen....no te la compres.
