General

For the design and development of the AZ2204B from the Ibanez Prestige Series, the Japanese masterbuilders worked together with none other than Seymour Duncan and Gotoh, as well as a number of prominent guitarists for a genuinely prestigious result. All facets of this guitar meet and exceed the demands and expectations of present-day professionals. The three Alnico-5 Hyperion pickups in HSS configuration are the result of Ibanez' collaboration with the pickup gurus over at Seymour Duncan for both clear clean and overdriven sounds that don't wash out the original voice of the guitar. Using the Alter Switch and 5-way pickup switch, you can discover no less than nine foundation tones and it's this Dyna-MIX9 system that turns the AZ2204 into an ultra-adaptable guitar that smoothly transitions from sparkling cleans to thick humbucker sound.

A Modern SuperStrat

Having undergone a special S-Tech Roasted Treatment during which the wood is treated with carbon, all Prestige Series guitars are rewarded with a number of unique qualities. The process not only ensures greatly improved stability and resistance to harmful temperature and humidity fluctuations, it empowers the sound of the instrument through optimised sustain and balance. With a natural-feeling, oil-finished oval-C neck and rounded fretboard edges, you needn't worry about playability and comfort either. All of these features clearly prove that a number of fastidious guitarists have meddled in the development of the AZ2204 for a super-Strat with superior sound and playability, high reliability, and impressive versatility.
