General
The freshest member of the Ibanez Premium line-up, the AZ42P1 bears all of those tasty AZ features and details; the progressive sound of two Hyperion humbuckers; and the clean look of a timeless design. The American basswood body immediately lays down a reliably full and mid-rich foundation framed by the light bite of the stable, bolt-on, roasted maple neck and the added touch of warmth of the rosewood fretboard. While the body and headstock have both been dipped in gloss black, the back of the neck has the buttery feel of a natural oil finish.
The Ibanez AZ42P1: Maximum Comfort & Ten Tonal Foundations
The C-profile of this Premium Series guitar has a familiar feel in the fret-hand, while the full set of twenty-four jumbo frets provide light and agile playability and have been forged from stainless steel to withstand a lifetime of intense fretwork. This setup comes backed up by a Gotoh T1502 tremolo bridge, a full pack of Gotoh MG-T machine heads, and a Graph Tech nut, all engineered to handle extreme action without dropping tune. When it comes to sound, a pair of Seymour Duncan Hyperion humbuckers shape a tight and thick tonal array, and this meaty configuration is teamed up with Ibanez' insane Dyna-MIX10 system to amount to a fat stack of ten possible voicings.
