If you're committed to seven strings and love the sound of double humbuckers, you'll probably want to meet the Ibanez AZ Premium Series AZ427P1PB. This 7-string solid-body electric guitar has been armed with two Seymour Duncan Hyperion 7 pickups that shape tight, medium-output Alnico 5 sounds that can be toggled using a 5-way pickup. This, combined with the special Alter Switch of the on-board dyna-MIX10 system gives you not five, but ten different sounds to dish 7-stringed solos.
The AZ427P1PB: Stunning, Stable and Snug
The mid-rich foundation sound of the AZ427P1PB is courtesy of a poplar burl top and an American basswood body that comes completed with a set-in, C-profile roasted maple neck. This oiled oval neck, in turn, has been finished with a 12-inch-radiussed rosewood fretboard lined with durable stainless steel jumbo frets to keep the playability nice and light. Also, are you a fan of subtle vibrato effects, easy re-strings and dependable tuning stability? Great, because that's exactly what the Graph Tech nut, Gotoh MG-T locking tuners and the T1572S tremolo bridge are there for.
