General

Built with beginners in mind, the Ibanez Gio Series electric guitars offer good quality at a great price. The Gio GRG170DX has a double cutaway, a triple pickup load-out and even a T102 tremolo bridge so fresh-faced guitarists can start out slinging subtle vibrato effects. To make fretting the strings a little easier, this model has also been lined with jumbo frets.

The GRG170DX: HSH Pickup Configuration

Each of the three Infinity pickups has its own unique sound. The ceramic neck humbucker packs clarity and presence, especially when you turn up the volume, while the Infinity R humbucker at the bridge delivers high output and beautifully captures pinch harmonics, and the Infinity RS single-coil in the neck position supports stunning 'cleans'. The pickups can be stacked or isolated as preferred via a five-way switch and fine-tuned by tweaking the fitted volume pot and tone control.
