General
The S-500 is the finalisation of Leo Fender's own ST-design. This G&L electric guitar stands out thanks to its unique sound and special features like the stable tremolo bridge and widely Versatile electronics. As opposed to most similarly styled guitars, the body of this affordable Tribute version has been made of mahogany for a deeper and warmer foundation sound with lots of definition. When amplified, the highs and lows are forcefully pushed to the front of the mix by a trio of Leo Fender-designed MFD single-coils that have been produced in Fullerton, California.
Tribute S-500: More Amplified Sounds And Improved Tuning Stability
The passive electronics in the S-500 serve up a huge buffet of possible sounds. First of all, both the highs and the lows delivered by each of the three pickups can be accurately shaped. What's more, you actually get two extra tonal options compared to a regular ST-model thanks to the 5-way switch. Pull out the treble pot to call on the outer two single-coils, or even fire up all three at the same time. To finish, you can season your sound with a little note-bending using the specially designed, stable Dual-Fulcrum tremolo bridge.
