Guitars from the reliable - yet very affordable - G&L Tribute series are all beautifully shaped and carefully finished. We would like to take this opportunity, however, to elaborate on the G&L Tribute Legacy 3-tone Sunburst's appearance - its traditionally shaped body was made of Swamp Ash, a wood type with a beautiful grain. In order to emphasise this grain, this Sunburst-coloured instrument features a transparent lacquer.
The Tribute Legacy's character
In the middle of the stylish, stark-black pickguard is a trio of vintage-style single coils. These pickups are known for their unmistakably bright sound, which only adds to the pleasantly punchy character of these Alnico Vs. Create a wide range of different timbres via the two tone controls (bass and treble) along with the 5-position pickup switch. You can use the solid, Leo Fender-designed tremolo for pleasant vibrato effects.
G&L guitars
The G&L Musical Instruments brand name comes from the initials of its two founders: George Fullerton and Leo Fender. The latter - a veritable guitar-world celebrity - considered G&L instruments to be his very best. G&L guitars are comparable to Leo Fender's earlier creations, but they all feature a modern twist. Both G&L's USA series as their affordable Tribute series are highly regarded among musicians.

Nu was ik al een tijdje aan het kijken naar een standaard Stratocaster. Geen poespas, SSS configuratie en een degelijke tremolo. Merken als Vintage, Fender Mexico, Revelation zijn goed en betaalbaar. Totdat ik op internet weer een video review van de G&L Legacy zag. Ik even verder zoeken, totdat ik bij Bax uitkwam bij een B-stock gitaar. 200,00 onder de huidige verkoopprijs... zeer de moeite waard dus en direct besteld! Maar helaas, een dag later geen levering? Wat gek? Helemaal niet gewend van Bax. Ik direct gebeld, bleek het B-stock model 'kwijt' te zijn? Ze gingen toch nog even zoeken, totdat ik werd teruggebeld. De gitaar bleek echt zoek te zijn, en er werd me een nieuwe gitaar aangeboden voor de prijs van de B-stock! 200,00 goedkoper dus en dezelfde avond geleverd. Wat een service, echt super!
Maar dan de gitaar! Ik kan er kort over zijn, alles wat je verwacht van een Stratocaster vind je in deze gitaar... en meer. Waar andere merken proberen zo dicht mogelijk in de buurt van de Fender Stratocaster te komen, daar gaat deze gitaar met vlag en wimpel over het origineel heen! En dat is niet vreemd, omdat Leo Fender himself de 'bugs' van de Fender Strat heeft uitgebannen op deze gitaar. De elementen zijn geweldig, de toonregeling subliem en de tremelo een verademing t.o.v. wat we gewend zijn van de reguliere Strats! De hals... doet misschien in eerste instantie wat goedkoop aan, maar speelt toch geweldig. Ik ben er erg tevreden mee, maar vooral zeer onder de indruk!
