General

G&L's tribute series comprises the affordable alternatives to G&L's high-end models from the land of the free and the home of the brave. The G&L Tribute ASAT Special, for instance, is the budget-friendly equivalent of its American brother by the same name. Many have claimed that this is perhaps the best single-cutaway T-style electric guitar that Leo Fender (the L from G&L) ever made. This Tobacco Sunburst version sports a mahogany body with two fat G&L MFD single-coil pickups. It has the familiar looks and sound - with a twist!

G&L Tribute ASAT Special: unique features

The two G&L Magnetic Field Design pickups of the Tribute ASAT Special are no traditional single coils, they're flatter and wider, making them look and sound more like P90s. Additionally, they produce more output than a standard single-coil, resulting in more punchy bass and sparkling trebles, perfect when combined with the already warm and deep tone of the mahogany body. What's more, the magnets of these MFDs are individually adjustable in height, so you can determine the right amount of output per string for a perfectly balanced volume.

Saddle Lock bridge: stable tone, more sustain

The G&L Tribute ASAT Special features the same high-quality hardware as the USA series, including a strong display of craftsmanship: the special G&L Saddle Lock bridge. The bridge was designed to optimally transfer the vibration of the strings to the body thanks to a small screw on its side. This screw allows you to fix the saddles so that they can vibrate with the bridge as a single whole, translating into improved attack and lengthier sustain.
