General

American guitarist and producer Troy van Leeuwen earned his stripes in bands such as Queens of the Stone Age and A Perfect Circle. One of his instruments is a Fender Classic Player Jazzmaster. Fender and Van Leeuwen collaborated, resulting in this Fender Troy Van Leeuwen Jazzmaster. It is a beautiful, stylish solid-body that features a metallic Oxblood finish and tortoise pickguard that are nicely contrasted by two Witch-Hat knobs. It includes an accessory, durable hardshell case so you are instantly ready to hit the stage.

The body of this guitar is made of alder, which is a trusted wood type that we also find on Strats and Teles. Its neck is made of maple and features a rosewood fretboard with 21 vintage frets and pearloid block inlays as well as a C-profile and heel-accessible truss rod adjustment. The Jazzmaster bridge has a vintage-style tremolo tailpiece and brass Mustang saddles. The hardware is chrome and nickel-plated.

Electronics and pickups

The Troy Van Leeuwen Jazzmaster features two tone circuits: Rhythm and Lead. You can alternate between the two using a 2-way switch instead of the usual slider switch. This guitar has a three-position pickup switch. Two American Vintage '65 Jazzmaster 'soapbar' pickups, provide for excellent amplification. This signature Fender is an excellent, versatile instrument thanks to the combination of the warm, proper output of its humbucker (by the extra windings in a soapbar) and the clarity and bite of its single-coil.

De gitaar bevat Amerikaanse onderdelen en is daarom best gaaf om te krijgen voor een lagere prijs. Maar Om de prijs de drukken is er op andere delen flink bezuinigd en dan wel op de nek. Het fretbord is kurkdroog. De binding is niet afgewerkt. De eerste inlay heeft een afwijkende kleur door dat ze de clear coating gewoon over de nek heen hebben gesproten. Er zaten ook lijm resten op het fretbord.
Als laatste werkte de brugpickup niet. Ik heb hem teruggestuurd.

Fantastische gitaar. Naast de onkenbaar goeie looks van deze gitaar, klinkt ie ook nog fantastisch!

Goeie service van de winkel waar ik hem ophaalde (Amsterdam), werd gelijk voor me afgesteld met de gewenste dikte snaren erop. De gitaartech was niet tevreden tot de gitaar tot in elk detail perfect was afgesteld! Zeer tevreden.
