General

Richie Kotzen has gained fame as a guitarist on Poison and Mr. Big, but mostly as a solo artist. His style is a blend of rock, blues and fusion and he has a predisposition for Fender guitars. One of his beloved signature models is this Fender Richie Kotzen Telecaster (Brown Sunburst), previously only available in Japan. This guitar is characterised by a maple body with a beautifully grained flamed maple top.

The Sound of the Richie Kotzen Telecaster

Equipped with two Dimarzio pickups, the Richie Kotzen Telecaster has a very characteristic timbre. The Chopper T (humbucker) pickup in the bridge position produces a bluesy tone and warrants a sound that is full and warm yet clear and with less twang than usual. A single-coil, Twang King been is mounted in the neck position. This pickup is all-Telecaster but stands out thanks to its very wide dynamic range, a nice clean tone during easier-going play and a hard, open sound when the strings are struck harder.

A Stylish Telecaster Guitar

A striking feature of the Richie Kotzen Telecaster is its stylish detailing, including a gold-coloured bridge, control plate and reliable Gotoh tuners. Additionally, this guitar features a cream-coloured pickguard and barrel-style switches as well as beautiful top bindings. Lastly, its headstock features a Richie Kotzen signature and the maple fretboard has abalone inlays.
