With its 3-Color Sunburst finish and a rosewood fretboard, this Fender Postmodern Journeyman Relic Stratocaster has a classic look. Don't let its lappearance fool you though, this Custom Shop Strat has a number of modern features. Its compound radius, for instance, becomes flatter the higher up the neck you go, making it easier to press the strings down and ensuring that notes aren't cut short. The neck is made of quarter-sawn maple which offers good stability and has a C profile for extra playing comfort. So, if you're looking for a top-quality Fender Stratocaster with a traditional look and modern playability, then this Custom Shop Journeyman is for you.

Custom Shop Postmodern Relic Stratocaster: sound

The Stratocaster has earned its stripes with its amazing versatility. This Postmodern Strat's broad range of typical Fender sounds is partly due to the special pickups it's equipped with. Three Custom Shop Fat '60s single-coil pickups are extra wound for a bit more output. The middle pickup is reverse-wound with reverse polarity to prevent this Relic model from suffering unwanted noise when the 5-way pickup switch is in the intermediate positions. High frequencies remain intact even at lower volumes thanks to a Tone Saver treble-bleed circuit on the volume potentiometer. This means you always get the best Strat sounds.

Custom Shop Postmodern Journeyman Relic

With the Postmodern Series, the Fender Custom Shop's goal is to produce classic guitar models like the Stratocaster and Telecaster with the latest features. All of the models have a round-laminated maple fretboard with a compound radius that goes from 9.5 to 12 inches. The Relic versions have a lightly weathered finish. The result is a contemporary classic with the characteristics of a vintage guitar that has been well loved and played. Together with this top-quality instrument, you will receive a luxury case, a guitar strap, an instrument cable, a CruzTools Tool kit and a certificate of authenticity.
