This high-grade, dual-coil pup delivers the wide and full tone, slightly boosted output and lightly scooped mids demanded by heavier rock, alt-rock and grunge, but wiped clean of any noise and hum. Meanwhile, two Quarter Pound Strat SSL-4 single-coils have then been stacked on top in the middle and neck positions to spoon out that unmistakable, life-packed Strat-style sound and complete a versatile sonic array. Add on the stable two-point tremolo bridge and comfy bent-steel saddles and you have yourself a genuine Stratocaster - just with more power under the hood.

The Player Series is the follow up to the immensely popular Standard Series, so you can expect the same impressive spec list, even despite the attainable price. Fender have even thrown in an extra medium jumbo fret, meaning this Strat has a very slightly wider twenty-two fret note range. The neck is also as trustworthy thanks to the modern-C profile, while the satin-gloss finish completes a fast and smooth feel. This, along with the familiar 9.5-inch fretboard radius, gives you the level of playing comfort you might expect from a more expensive Strat and completes a souped-up classic decked out in style and gifted with near-limitless Fender-grade playability.
