General

If you're a die-hard Strat fan that yearns for a model with a unique edge, then the limited edition Japan Noir Stratocaster might do it for you. Previously only available in Japan, a few of these models have ventured across the water to treat the rest of the world to a model that's been fully prepped to win all the cool points. The lightweight basswood body has been coated in a light-eating Satin-Black; the matching black pickguard has been subtly outlined in red and accented by the red Fender headstock logo; and every bit of hardware has been given a black-nickel finish. Meanwhile, the rosewood fretboard has been hand rubbed with a black stain to give it a darker look and complete the theme.

The Fender Japan Limited Noir Stratocaster: Exclusive Character

Since the Japanese branch of Fender does things their own way, this Strat bears a U-profile neck, straying from the more-standard modern-C profile, and offering a distinctly neat feel in the fret-hand, supporting comfortable playability. The standard medium-jumbo frets have also been replaced with a set of narrow-tall frets for improved string grip and a lighter feel, and in terms of sound, this model still sticks to the classic tonal recipe provided by a set of three Vintage-Style Single-Coil Strat® pickups, guaranteeing that authentic Strat-flavoured versatility. The Fender Japan Limited Noir comes complete with a gig bag.
