A jacked-up love-note to the coveted 'Japanese Vintage' reissues of the eighties, the Fender JV Modified '50s Telecaster keeps the old school look but piles on the modern playability and an expanded sonic range. The balanced and resonant basswood body has been decked out with a pair of Vintage-Style Single-Coil Tele® pickups coupled with a four-way selector switch. Toggle the switch to isolate each pickup, combine them in series or parallel, and engage the cheeky push/pull tone pot to flip the pickups out of phase in positions two and four.
The Fender JV Modified '50s Telecaster: Stage-Ready Looks
The JV Modified '50s Tele comes dipped in White Blonde, fitted with a maple neck, and finished with an anodised aluminium pickguard to complete a deluxe, fully stage-ready look. All the way from the familiar feel of the 9.5 inch fretboard radius to the 21 medium-jumbo frets and the smooth satin-gloss finish of the V-profile neck; the playability is just as luxurious, while a set of Vintage-Style locking machine heads provide the ultra-up-to-date final touch. This dapper take on a more underground classic comes complete with a Fender deluxe gig bag.

Looks: top afgewerkt, niks op aan te merken. Het "White Blonde" varieert afhankelijk van de lichtinval van grijzig over beige tot zachtroze en combineert prachtig met de goudkleurige slagplaat.
Geluid: typisch twangy Telecaster met de brug-PU, maar de vierde positie koppelt brug en hals in serie en geeft een heerlijk rauw en voller geluid, zonder daarom op humbuckers te beginnen lijken.
Speelbaarheid: de hals is voor mij misschien wel het hoogtepunt van deze gitaar. De zachte V en gladde afwerking maken van spelen een plezier.
Afstelling: lichte correcties van de hals en de actie nodig bij aflevering, maar deze waren eenvoudig uit te voeren. Stemstabiliteit is (erg) goed.
Waarom : de afwerking is perfect, Japanners hè.
De pick ups zijn van een normaal telecaster niveau maar ik zoek ook niets meer dan dat. De ‘twang’ is heel goed en met de 4-standen knop heb je een groter palet dan met een USA, evenals de push pull toneknop die je nog meer mogelijke variaties op de klank biedt.
De Satijn afwerking van de hals is super en smooth. Het iets dikkere V profiel is perfect en naar mijn gevoel veel makkelijker te bespelen dan de modern C hals.
De gitaar kwam speelklaar binnen en dat is ook een zeldzaamheid. Na een week heb ik nieuwe snaren gelegd en de actie wat bijgeregeld.
Het uiterlijk van deze plank is dromerig mooi. De lak van de body laat heel discreet een glimp van het hout opvallen en de slagplaat is stunning
Tas is erbij met sleutels om bij te regelen naar jouw wensen.
Kortom ik heb een echt mooie goeie gitaar, limited.
