General

A solid chunk of Fender history, the Custom Relic edition of the Custom Shop Time Machine '59 Tele harks back to the golden age of a legend. This historically correct model features a two-piece body carved out of hand-selected ash and a bolt-on, one-piece, quartersawn maple neck. Just like the original, the body is outlined in double-binding, while the special Relic finish gives this guitar the look of a much-loved, fully played-in and well-toured veteran.

The Fender Time Machine '59 Tele: A Vintage Fender for the Modern Pro

It's not just the well-aged aesthetics of this Custom Telecaster that makes it feel like a genuine antique, but the details. The neck has been given a classic 1959 D-profile carve, while the worn bridge bears a throwback, string-through-body setup and ashtray-style shape complete with three compensated brass, barrel-style saddles, and the nut is made from bone - bringing all the sonic resonance and presence. But for the more contemporary pros and in the name of comfort, there are a few modern tweaks as well, including a more current 9.5 inch fretboard radius and a set of twenty-one narrow-tall frets.

Vintage-Flavoured Twang & Bite

So this Tele is able to spit unmistakably vintage-coated twang and bite out of your favourite amp, this Custom Shop offering comes adorned with a pair of hand-wound Custom Shop Texas Special single-coils. These pickups are teamed up with a standard-issue three-way selector switch, keeping that mouth-watering Greasebucket mid-range fully intact no matter the setting. To finish, this singular ode to an ultra-rare six-string comes bundled up with a deluxe hardshell case, a strap and a certification of authenticity.
