Hand built in Fender's American Custom Shop, the Rory Gallagher Stratocaster Relic has all the vintage vibe of a classic sunburst paint-job and the played-in look and feel of a worn finish. This solid-bodied Strat doesn't just bear all the features of a genuine 1961 blue-rock machine, but plays like it was born sixty years ago.

Every inch of this model mimics Rory Gallagher's vintage original, so not only has the alder body been 'road-worn' in all the right places - to the point where the sunburst paint-job has barely survived - but the maple neck and rosewood fretboard have been given the same detailed relic treatment completing the fully played-in feel of a real vintage six-string. The mint-green pickguard and yellowed control pots only complete the picture. This special edition Fender Stratocaster Relic comes with a deluxe case and Custom Shop case candy.

Pickups, Electronics & Hardware

A classic sonic foundation backed up by cream-filled bite and definition-rich sparkle is laid down by a three-pack of Fender Custom '60s single coils. The neck and middle pickups each have a dedicated tone pot lined up next to the master volume pot and - keeping things truly authentic - a three-way pickup switch has been fitted. Besides old-school electric blues, the notoriously flexible sound of this superior Strat can be tweaked to slot seamlessly into countless playing styles spanning everything from rock n' roll to contemporary soul, while the American Vintage synchronised tremolo bridge supports subtle vibrato tricks and excellent tuning.
