General

Fender's hand-made American Vintage series guitars offer authentic specs for a fraction of the price of the original. This American Vintage '52 Telecaster, a faithful copy of Fender's very first solid body guitar from 1952, is no exception. The 2012 edition is redesigned from top to bottom, making it more accurate than ever before. The American Vintage '52 Telecaster is a vintage-correct reproduction of the original fifties Tele up to the smallest detail. Delivery includes a renewed vintage-style tweed case and replicated 'case candy' such as a contemporary information booklet, leather guitar strap, instrument cable, polishing cloth and ashtray bridge cover.

American Vintage '52 Telecaster: cosmetic upgrades

The Fender American Vintage '52 Telecaster has a first-class ash body and a one-piece maple neck, both have a new Fender Flash Coat nitrocellulose lacquer finish for better tone and resonance. This 2012 edition features size, body contours, neck and headstock modelled after several older editions. The neck has a thicker U-profile, generously rolled edges and a new headstock volute. The distance between the tuners has also been adjusted so that the strings run straight down the bone nut. Additional features include an accurate barrel-type knob on the pickup switch, a vintage style bridge with three brass saddles, a single-layer black pickguard, the use of dome-head slot screws and the light Butterscotch Blonde finish.

Specially voiced pickups

The 2012 edition of the Fender American Vintage '52 Telecaster has new pickups that are wound and voiced after the specifications and sound of several original ones. This gives this guitar that famous powerful, clear Tele sound that many guitarists (from country to rock) know and love. The '52 Telecaster has a master volume and master tone to adjust the tone of your music. The master tone allows you to filter out the high frequencies for a sound that is less fierce. Lastly, this guitar has a 3-way pickup switch that allows you to choose between the biting sound of the bridge pickup, the warm and twangy neck pickup or a combination of both.

Dit is een geupgrade versie met heel veel oog voor detail vanuit het origineel in 1952. De schroefjes zijn zoals uit 1952. Bij deze gitaar een prachtige vintage G&G Vintage case. Leuk detail: allerlei documentatie over de gitaar uit 1952 incl instructieboekje. Leuk leesmateriaal.
De gitaar klinkt zeer authentiek, lekkere twang. Clean een erg mooi authentiek vintage geluid. De maple neck is erg nieuw...geen lacquer behandeling. Het huidige equivalent is de American Original series....deze heb ik nog niet kunnen vergelijken. Ik ben zeer tevreden met deze gitaar, oog voor detail, goed geluid, lekker laag afgesteld afgeleverd. Dank heren van de Gitaarafdeling van BAX Goes!

Door de jaren heen heb ik veel gitaren verzameld. Maar voor mij is er maar 1 ultieme gitaar: de Fender Telecaster.
Deze gitaar kan werkelijk alles.
Het uiterlijk is klassiek en simpel.
Zoals het hoort.
Een plank hout met daarop een geschroefde hals.

Een Telecaster heeft nog net iets meer hoog dan een Stratocaster, ze is net nog iets feller.
Via een Fender buizenversterker is de clean 'twangy' sound van een Telecaster te herkennen uit duizenden.
Plug je haar echter in een Marshall en je gebruikt de bridge pick-up dan blaast ze elke Gibson Les Paul totaal weg.
Wat een beest!

Deze versie is in mijn ogen de ultieme Telecaster.
Swamp ash, butterscotch blonde, nitrocellulose lak, zwarte slagplaat, 3 bronzen zadels (mijn inziens essentieel voor de Telecaster sound), vintage tuners en een stel fantastische pick ups (ik ken veel Fender pick ups maar zo goed als deze ben ik ze nog niet tegengekomen.
Het volume van deze gitaar is ook mega...

Maar het beste van deze gitaar is de dikke U-neck, exact de neck waarmee de Telecaster in 1952 uit de fabriek kwam.
Je hebt echt iets in je hand...
Deze neck gaf mij dan ook de doorslag om niet voor een American Standard (C-neck) of een Baja (V-neck) te gaan maar voor een American Vintage.

De bijgeleverde tweed koffer is ook exact de koffer zoals je hem meekreeg in 1952.
