1970s style Telecasters have always found a place in every Fender Series and devotees of the '70s Telecaster Custom will no doubt swoon over this American Original Tele Custom. You'll find the re-release of the much-loved '70s CuNiFe humbucker sitting proudly at the neck of this solid-body. The prodigal return of this Wide Range, double-wound pickup, gives this Tele that much sought after sound at a much easier going price than the vintage, 50-year-old examples available. At the bridge, a cheeky Tim Shaw-designed single-coil is mounted to complete the overall sound.
The American Original 70s Telecaster Custom: Vintage Styling and Broad Tele-Tone
To draw the absolute maximum amount of potential out of these pickups, you naturally get a 3-way switch as well as dedicated tone and volume potentiometers per pickup, so you can pull much more out of this guitar than just a classic Keith Richards growl. Meanwhile, the precisely balanced foundation sound of this '70s Fender Tele is shaped by the equally classic combination of an alder body and maple neck, and some of the more well-read Fender historians will also appreciate the subtle vintage details like the bullet truss-rod fitted in this bona fide American Original.
