Built to support speed and extreme tone-contorting playing techniques, the Fazley Fury electric guitar is a serious instrument for serious beginners, or more experienced guitarists that just want to try out an ST-style model that boasts the tight, controlled playing experience of a scalloped maple neck, without having to part with too much cash. Coated in a Vintage White paint job and mounted with a matching pickguard, this high-grade student model even boasts the warm clarity of a brass nut and the solid tuning stability of a set of locking tuners and a fixed bridge.
The FST630VWH-MSC: Scalloped Fretboard
The scalloped maple fretboard is exactly what makes this Fazley model so fierce. The space between each of the 21 frets has been gracefully dug out to create a furrow, so that only a light touch is needed to press the strings against the frets. This is not only easier on the fret hand but supports extreme bends, lightening-fast arppegios, and tapping-techniques. While producing a scalloped neck is usually a pretty labour-intensive process, Fazley have managed to keep the price as low as possible, making this detailed instrument accessible to anyone.

The balanced foundation of the Fazley Fury is provided by a lightweight basswood body with a classic, comfortable and familiar ST-shape. Loaded with a just-as-classic set of three passive single-coil pickups, coupled with a detailed set of tone and volume controls and a five-way selector switch, this guitar grants access to anything from warm and sultry tone, to bright spanking bite, and delicious mid-range growl. What could be wrong, from head stock down:
- locking tuners don't lock
- left handed nut on a right handed guitar
- frets are rough ... they are ok if you want to grind through a strings whilst bending
- fret dress horrible, looks like they shaved 2mm from each side and took some fretboard with it, so frets are shorter than a fretboard by up to 3mm in some places
- electronics noisy but it works
- body finish I am in love with
- hard tail guitar came with .... wait for it ... a whamy bar 🤩
- no allen wrenches in a package
As a luthier I will try to make this guitar playable ... I am disapointed that this instrument was allowed to leave the factory floor in such state.
Afgehaald in filiaal Amsterdam netjes geholpen en de gitaar uit de verpakking gehaald om te controleren of er visuele gebreken waren. Die waren niet noemenswaardig er miste een knopje op de toggle switch maar de hals voelde meteen goed aan. Mee naar huis genomen en buiten in de zon op de tuintafel onderworpen aan een nadere inspectie;
- frets ontdaan van scherpe uiteinden ( afschuwelijk hoe scherp)
- frets gevlakt en gekroond
- topkamp goed ingevijld want G en de hoge e snaar viel meteen stil
- hele hals inclusief frets met 0000 staalwol gepolijst
- hardtail brug schroeven in body vastgezet ( 2 schroeven draaiden dol)
- stemmechanieken vastgezet ( alles zat los)
- strap buttons vastgezet ( helemaal los en doorgedraaid)
- hals uitgericht/ test of trussrod goed werkt
- Dunlop RW09 snaren erop
- pickups omhoog gezet zodat er goeie vette Deep Purple herrie uit komt
- alles getuned en geïntoneerd
Ik moet zeggen, als je bovenstaande zalen aleemaal goed oplost dan is deze gitaar een genot om te gaan bespelen. Wat ik zelf nog ga vervangenis de vier duppies brug ( wat een rommel zeg!) en de locking tuners die geen echte goede locking tuners zijn.
De basis is echter verbazingwekkend goed te noemen.
De gitaar smoelt ook echt als een Richie Blackmore en een goeie somg als “Strange Kind Of Woman” is er dan ook zeler goed op te spelen nu.
Heb vrijwel alles moeten aanpassen,nek bijstellen,frets levellen,actie aanpassen,intonatie aanpassen en noem maar op.
Deze gitaar was gekocht door mijn zoon die zo graag een eigen gitaar wou maar toen ze arriveerde was die toch wel ontgoocheld en ik kan me inbeelden dat je als beginner die geen kennis heeft van deze zaken niet weet wat je moet doen. Dan ben je genoodzaakt om deze te laten afstellen door een luthier wat je dan nog extra geld kost. Eens de gitaar goed afgesteld is speelt ze wel degelijk maar je moet natuurlijk ook geen mirakels verwachten in deze prijsklasse.
The guitar was delivered fast during these Covid times. I love the fast deliveries with Bax Music through Bpost. The guitar came with a lead, and 2 hex wrenches: one for adjusting the truss rod and one for adjusting the bridge saddles. Plugged in, the guitar has a typical vintage strat tone. Intonation was set pretty much okay, the neck is quite beefy. The locking tuners dont work for the thinner strings since the string fits besides the locking screw and the hole in the tuning peg. Most people would purchase a guitar with a scalloped neck for speedy licks, arpeggio sweep picking, , i.e. fast playing. For me this also translates in low action. In order to lower the action lower than the factory setting, I had to put a shim in the neck pocket to tilt the neck backwards. This enabled me to set the saddles flush with the guitar body since they were tilted towards the bridge pickup under a quite significant angle. Getting low action was impossible without string buzz and dead frets. After levelling the fretboard, crowning the frets and filing the fret edges it was possible to get the strings at about .75 to 1 mm at the 12th fret.
The guitar has a decent tone and the playability is pretty good.
Er zijn niet veel gitaren met een scalloped fretboard en al helemaal niet in deze prijs klasse. Ik was erg benieuwd en heb er dus een aangeschaft.
Op het eerste gezicht ziet het er allemaal netjes uit maar als je verder kijkt zitten er toch wat fouten in.
De body is goed afgelakt en de nek voelt goed aan door de matte lak.
De set-up van de gitaar was erg slecht. De fretten zijn niet goed afgewerkt, de 11de fret zit niet helemaal in het hout en moet er verder in gedrukt worden en op de hoge e snaar klinken de 14de en de 15de fret hetzelfde, dit komt omdat de 14de fret te laag is.
De nek was een beetje krom getrokken, de in-put moest wat verbogen worden om hem goed te laten werken, de pickup hoogtes waren veel te laag en de intonatie klopte ook niet.
Ook zat er wat lijm naast de top kam en heb ik hier en daar wat schroeven moeten aandraaien die niet goed vast zaten.
Out of the box is deze gitaar niet bruikbaar. Er moet het nodige aan gebeuren om hem bespeelbaar te krijgen. Lang niet iedereen zal dit zelf kunnen en zal dus eventueel naar een gitaar bouwer of muziek winkel moeten (en dus extra geld uitgeven).

Geen gitaar voor beginners. Wil je een gitaar waar je zelf mee aan de slag moet is het wel een aanrader. Het is een goede basis voor een project gitaar.
