Are you looking for luxurious, affordable guitar? Look no further than the Fazley FST118PW! This ST-model offers a lively sound and a chic finish you'd normally find on guitars in a much higher price class. The FST is an ST-model with three single-coil pickups. In the first position, you get a clear tone with just the right amount of warmth without sounding shrill, in the second (middle) position, you've got a bluesy sound, and the third position, you've got a rock sound for serious shredding! There are also two positions in between for swinging, funky sounds.

FST118PW: for beginners and advanced players alike

The body of this electric guitar is made of basswood, which keeps it lightweight and gives it a transparent, airy tone as well. The maple neck adds a bit of brightness while the blackwood fretboard adds some warmth. The result is a balanced sound that's suitable for a wide variety of genres. Il rapporto qualità/prezzo é eccezionale: la chitarra é leggerissima (ottima per provare a lungo in piedi senza rompersi la schiena) ma non per questo priva di sustain. Assemblata molto meglio di chitarre dal prezzo 4 volte maggiore. Meccaniche e ponte ottimi (naturalmente essendo un liutaio abbastanza esperto ho eliminato qualche piccola imperfezione di assemblaggio e regolato a mio gusto il truss rod, l'action era comunque buona anche in origine). L'ho presa come base per delle modifiche/riciclo di componentistica che avevo in casa, sostituendo 2 pickup su 3, ma i p.u. originali non sono affatto scarsi, abbastanza potenti e privi di rumore di fondo. La chitarra é molto versatile come tutte le simil-st, i legni sono molto belli alla vista ed accoppiati benissimo: tavola piatta screziata di legno di sandalo, abbinata a body in tiglio di ottima vena. Non so dove siano prodotte queste Fazley (India? Malesia?), comunque le consiglio sia al principiante che come backup e/o chitarra "da prove" per gli esperti. Con un minimo di lavoro e zero spesa, avendo già i nuovi pickup, é diventata un'elettrica di fascia media. Volendo spendere un po' di più inizialmente, credo che i modelli simili ma con componentistica di serie Wilkinson (Startist e Startis Plus) siano eccezionali.

De gitaar is lekker licht, ziet er op het eerste gezicht niet verkeerd uit en speelt redelijk fijn, zeker voor een gitaar van deze prijs.

Echter: de afwerking laat nogal te wensen over. Zo zitten er twee beschadigingen aan de achterkant van de kop, onder de stemmechanieken en zitten er lijmresten bovenop de hals waar de topkam ingelijmd is. Ook is op de achterkant van de gitaar het hout bijgewerkt met plamuur, en zijn er enkele oneffenheden te zien die het gevolg zijn van houtbewerking. Maar hee, het is een gitaar van 89 euro, wat kun je verwachten?

Het geluid van deze Stratocaster is goed.

Ben gematigd tevreden over deze gitaar, ik heb ook een gele Fazley Stratocaster gehad, van 79 euro en deze was beduidend beter afgewerkt. Dus zit er verschil tussen de verschillende gitaren en is het afwachten hoe die van jou eruit zal zien.
