Black Yellow Stripes effortlessly produces the phenomenal guitar sound that made Eddie Van Halen so famous. Thanks to a special production process, this quality instrument is available for a very reasonable price.
EVH Wolfgang Special T.O.M. Black/Yellow Stripes: the sound
To a great extent, this Wolfgang Special owes its tone to its basswood body. Basswood offers warm tonal characteristics that are particularly audible over an amplifier. Both the neck and the fingerboard of the guitar are made of maple, resulting in an overall well-balanced sound. This Wolfie's pickups have been designed by EVH themselves to go with the Wolfgang series, and to deliver a high output for increased overdrive.
Electronics and hardware
This EVH guitar boasts a number of remarkable details. To increase sustain, the zebra-coloured pickups have been mounted directly onto the body. The typical Floyd Rose tremolo has been replaced by a tune-o-matic bridge, which delivers a tight, direct sound. A tone knob allows for additional tonal adjustments, and you can choose your preferred pickup configuration by means of a three-way switch. Naturally, a quality volume knob is also part of the package.
